  • Barnyard Discoveries - June 11th: Enjoy a "Day at the Farm" with our local friends at Barnyard Discoveries, a hands-on mobile program that brings friendly farm animals and educational fun right to the library!
  • ECICOG: Too Much Stuff - June 7th: Join us for a fun and thoughtful program where participants will explore how having too much stuff affects the environment - and what we can do about it! Inspired by Too Much Stuff by Emily Gravett, kids will discover simple ways to make a positive impact. 
  • Tim Johnston, Distant Sons: Virtual Author Visit - June 17th: Explore the craft of suspenseful storytelling with bestselling local author Tim Johnston as he discusses his latest novel, Distant Sons. In this virtual presentation, Johnston offers insight into the themes, characters, and inspiration behind his gripping literary thriller. A must-see event for fans of atmospheric and thought-provoking fiction.
  • Christina Wyman, Jawbreaker: Virtual Author Visit - June 18th: Join us for a virtual conversation with Christina Wyman, author of Jawbreaker, a powerful middle grade novel about self-acceptance, resilience, and speaking up. Wyman will share the personal inspiration behind the story, discuss her writing journey, and answer audience questions. A meaningful event for readers who appreciate honest and empowering stories.
  • Byron Graves, Rez Ball: Virtual Author Visit - June 25th: Author Byron Graves shares the story behind Rez Ball, his powerful debut novel about basketball, brotherhood, and identity on a Native American reservation. This virtual event offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Graves weaves culture, community, and sport into an unforgettable coming-of-age story. Perfect for fans of contemporary YA and heartfelt, authentic storytelling.
  • Dragons & Deep Dish - July 8th: Join us for an epic evening of adventure and friendship! This one-time Dungeons & Dragons event is designed for teens (ages 12–18) who love a good story and a fun, social atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to role-playing games, everyone is welcome—no prior experience is needed. We’ll provide all the game materials and pizza; just bring your imagination (and appetite) for a night of storytelling and fun! Registration Required!
  • Prohibition in Iowa - July 11th: Join Iowa historical fiction writer, Ann Hanigan Kotz, as she takes you through the early 20th century in her program, Iowa’s Prohibition & Bootlegging Legacy. You’ll discover the state’s Prohibition journey along with why many families turned to bootlegging. Ann takes you through the distant past, beginning with the murder of a pastor in Sioux City, the tarring of an official by the Iowa City Beer Mafia, the rum-running of Iowa’s infamous rye whiskey in Templeton, and ending with the current exploits of today’s underground whiskey business.
  • Toby KIDS' Silly Adventure - July 17th: Toby is a professional goofball delivering unparalleled laughs with magic, storytelling, juggling, and balloons—all blended into pure silliness!
  • Juggler with the Yellow Shoes - July 21st: Juggler with the Yellow Shoes brings fun and excitement with captivating juggling skills and a playful flair that delights audiences of all ages!
  • Cold-Blooded Redhead - August 4th: Cold-Blooded Redhead offers an engaging, hands-on experience with snakes and reptiles, combining education and excitement for animal enthusiasts of all ages!
  • Pint Size Polkas - August 12th: Get ready for toe-tapping fun with Pint Size Polkas! This high-energy, interactive music program brings lively polka tunes, laughter, and learning to you! Sing, dance, and discover fascinating facts—all while enjoying the upbeat sounds of accordion-driven fun.
